Host organisation: exil.arte, Wien, Austria

This organisation is meant to be a contact point for coordinating projects of institutions, societies and persons dealing with this specific topic. It is situated in Austria and organises and coordinates artistic, scientific and cultural projects and events concerning artists who were suppressed, exiled killed by the Nazis (especially in the field of music, music theatre and film). In congresses and symposia as well as in artistic events the topic shall be presented effectively in public.

Exil.arte organises its activities by itself or in cooperation with other institutions or persons, induces projects and offers support for dissertations, publications etc.

An International Forum shall be developed and publications should broaden the knowledge about the time and persons involved.

Duration: 6 months

Working hours: 40hours/week

Training content (activities / tasks):

• Organization, production and promotion of concerts, scientific conferences and congresses
• Publishing activities concerning composers and musicians who were exiled or killed by the Nazis (e.g. searching data and processing brochures on selected musicians)
• Communication with scientists, musicians, music ensembles, ministry of culture and other institutions

Required profile of the candidates:

• University graduates in Musicology, Music Pedagogy, Cultural Management
• Skills with focus on daily operation of a musical organisation, in particular organising cultural events and networking
• Very good language skills (spoken and written communication in German and English or German and French)
• Team working,
• Creative thinking
• Capacity of working in an international environment
• Further, applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Graduates of Palacky University in Olomouc, Moravian College Olomouc, Tomas Bata University in Zlin or other higher education institution having its registered office in the Middle Moravia region
• Date of graduation: no more than 1,5 year ago
• You have not carried out a Leonardo da Vinci placement, mobility of people in the labour market (PLM) yet
• Permanent residence or perspective employment in the region is advantage

Remuneration:

• financial support - 0 EUR /month
•  contribution in kind (e.g. accommodation, public transport, meals etc.) – 0 EUR /month.

Note: beside possible financial support and/or contribution in kind provided by the host organisation, the selected candidate shall receive a Leonardo da Vinci grant. The grant shall be allocated in the max. amount of up to a 4-month scholarship (monthly rate being max. 600 EUR).
