The Faculty of Arts, with its twenty-one departments, almost 6 000 students and more than 250 teachers is the biggest of the eight faculties of Palacký University. The Faculty offers a wide range of studies in the humanities, in philological and art disciplines, as well as social sciences. Traditional study programmes have been gradually transformed to favour eligibility and variability. Students have more possibilities to modify their study programmes, including the choice to combine in double major study programmes. The Faculty now is an institution capable of competition with faculties in Europe and its departments are favorably appraised even outside Europe.
